Blue Yonder marked the reunion of David and Ian as PILOT in the new millennium.  This album includes 8 re-recorded tracks from Two’s a Crowd, 2 new songs, and 1 live song from 1975. The demand  by fans for Two’s a Crowd to be released on CD in Japan and Arista’s unwillingness to do so led to David and Ian making this album. Two’s a Crowd was the #1 album in a fan poll of Rock/Pop albums to be released on CD. The Japanese version includes an acoustic version of Lovely Lady Smile as a bonus track. Following Blue Yonder’s success Arista BMG finally released the album on CD. The collaboration of Ian and David working together instantly created that Pilot sound that was really the most recognizable part of everything they worked on as session musicians. But it was never more recognizable than on a dedicated PILOT album and Blue Yonder is a shining example of that magical spark.
